"But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation." I Thessalonians 5:1-8
I yearn to see God's move in these latter days on a broad scale. I say strange because by default that brings about the end of this present world, yet it also ushers in the Kingdom of God.
As we read the Scriptures, we are given the picture of much tribulation, but also a great harvest of souls. A turning point for these events centers around Israel.
The Scriptures indicate that the signing of a 7 year peace treaty in the Middle East will be the trigger for these end time events (Daniel 9:27). According to recent reports, Barack Obama is close to brokering a peace treaty between Israel and its Arab neighbors: www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/aug/25/barack-obama-middle-east-peace
Jesus gave us signs that will precede His second coming. These signs have been in affect and are increasing in intensity as we approach that time.
May we each take preparations so that this time does not overtake us as a thief in the night. God prepares His people and does not leave them in ignorance of His plans. Redeem the times we are in and get your orders from Him so that you can be a blessing to those who will be saved.
"Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest." Matthew 9:37-38
