I believe in Jesus Christ because I know Him. I believe the Scriptures are God's word because He told me this was His word.
(I bet some of you thought this was going to be an extensive dialog) LOL ;D
Personally knowing God is the only way to believe in Him, but perhaps that is a discussion for another time.
I just wanted to post some videos from Voddie Baucham that discusses the authenticity of the Scriptures. While coming to Jesus is not an intellectual exercise (requiring us to know history, know languages, etc.), he makes discusses some interesting info about how the Scriptures came to be.
So many people attack the integrity of the Scriptures with all kinds of baseless arguments. In the end, all you need to know is that it is God's word. Yet, if you would like to know a little bit more about how it came to be, Minister Baucham does a pretty good job explaining this.

Witnessing to others will then be the work that God does through us by the power of His Spirit and not by words of man's wisdom. It is a waster of time to "argue" about the Bible with others. But I post this to the extent that this information helps further your faith in the security of Scripture.
