People may know that Steve McNair, a former NFL quarterback, died recently when he was shot and killed by His 20 year-old mistress, who then committed suicide by turning the gun on herself. I typically don't comment on such things for a number of reasons, but...
It is one thing to have the world mock God; that is expected. But to have those who claim to represent Him mocking His character and holiness is beyond bearable.

Steve McNair's pastor and close friend cautioned against judging the ex-NFL quarterback Thursday, reminding people who gathered for his memorial not to cast the first stone when talking about his life off the field.
McNair, who was married, was shot to death at his condo early Saturday by his 20-year-old girlfriend, Sahel Kazemi, who then turned the gun on herself.
"Drop your stone the next time you write about Steve McNair. Drop your stone the next time you text somebody. Drop your stone the next time you twitter. Drop your stone, those of you in the barbershops, the beauty shops. Those of you walking the streets on the corner, drop your stone," Bishop Joseph W. Walker III told thousands of people, among them family members, fans and more than 50 former teammates, gathered at Mount Zion Baptist Church.
"What I do know about this man was that he loved God though he was just like us: imperfect," Walker said. "But he knew God."
Among those in the audience was McNair's wife, Mechelle, who later left wearing sunglasses. Walker called her an amazing woman.
"You have inspired us all to endure hardship as a good soldier," he said.
These words are from somebody's PASTOR??!! McNair knew and loved God? NOT according to the Scriptures:
"If ye love me, keep my commandments." John 1415
"Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge." Hebrews 13:4
"Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind" I Corinthians 6:9
Does this mean that McNair is in Hell? Only God knows. Could he have had a conversion to Jesus prior to dieing? Possibly. But nothing short of that would have saved his soul.
With the same fervor by which I say we cannot know his eternal destiny, I will at the same time not imply that this man is now in Heaven based on some unbiblical "love for God."
What kind of pastor is this? Why are people so quick to follow worldly hirelings cloaking as men of God in order to cover sin?
People need to wake-up and understand that there IS a God over all the earth before whom every knee shall bow. It is appointed to man once to die, and then after that is the judgment. But no one wants to talk about that.
Even worse then lifting up this man and glossing over his errors under some "he loved God" mess, this "pastor" Joseph W. Walker III then goes on to pervert God's words.
He tells McNair's wife, "You have inspired us all to endure hardship as a good soldier".
What kind of foolishness is this?? So, when Paul instructs us to endure hardness as a good soldier of the Lord, he means to hold up well while your spouse dishonors himself/herself, his/her family, and his/her vows before God in order to commit adultery??
I took a look at this man's website (www.josephwalker3.org/main/). I have never seen a man so full of himself. Maybe he is moonlighting as male model on the side and the ministry site is serving as a double for his photo portfolio because every ten spaces there is another photo of him.
When I look at this man's "ministry", it is not hard to believe that McNair may have thought his life of adultery was not incompatible with loving God. From his actions, McNair loved himself, and he seems to have had a good teacher in how to perfect that love - his "pastor" Joseph W. Walker III.
I am sorry for McNair's family and what they are going through. I am even more sorry for the hundreds listening to this preacher's gospel of compromise, who may in ignorance take this as a word from God.
