Ezekiel 18:32 "For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live."
I was on PlayStation Home® chatting with one of my online friends and we were on the the discussion of GOD. I told him I was depressed. He asked why, and I told him that every since I gave my life to Jesus Christ, it's been turned upside down. There is a war in the mind of my outer being (the flesh) and my inner man (Jesus Christ, the new creature) and has really been taking a toll on me lately.
But Christ is my help and my strength and all of my help comes from the LORD. My faith in Jesus and and love for him keep me going. I then went on an explained to him how GOD had given me something that was greater than anything I could ever be given. Not only salvation through Him but a new life, the chance to turn over a new life. I couldn't express to my friend how grateful and thankful I was and how I love what Jesus Christ is doing in my life and how he is breaking me down and rebuilding me to be after Him, in His image. My life is so much better with GOD, regardless of anything I may be going through.
I have no desire at all to go back from where I came from... NONE WHAT SO EVER! I forsake all things for Jesus Christ my LORD and SAVIOR.
OK, so enough about me.... My friend told me that he (and I quote) "Renounced GOD"....
2 Peter 2:20 "If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning."
2 Peter 2:21 "For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them."
That comment right then and there pricked my spirit and caused me great sadness. (I actually had to pause) This was no laughing matter at all. All I could think about was Ezekiel 18:32, and 2 Peter 2:20-21. To know GOD and then turn away.... WOW, just WOW.
I doubt he ever really knew Jesus Christ in the first place because he mad the comment that "The church lead me to do it." LIES! I say! If you know GOD truly and he lives in you and you in him (John 15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.") Then NO church, person, or ANYTHING will cause you to fall away from Him, only by your own conscious decision can you do that. (John 10:27-30"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one."). I was appalled by his comments, yet I was still sad. We can not go around pointing the finger and trying to blame other people for our own decisions. We are responsible for our own actions and we are held accountable for them.
I pray that he really comes to know the LORD for who HE really is and that Satan depart from him and he comes to know the truth and that the love of GOD will lead him to repentance. Amen.
