There are some who propose that once you are saved, you are always saved. However, a look at the Scriptures do not support this position. We are eternally conditionally secure as we endure and abide. A covenant is an agreement between two parties where both parties have obligations to fulfilling the contract. We are joined to God the Father through faith in Jesus Christ as part of the New Testament (i.e. covenant).
