Some of you may or may not have heard about the comments made by Fox News journalist Brit Hume concerning Tiger Woods. While I am in no way surprised by the responsed that Brit has been receiving the clip below it just straight up angers me!!!
I hate the world and what it does to the inhabitants who embrace it but at the same time I feel a sense of pity towards them as well. One could say they know not what they do but it seems to have escalated far beyond that to...they know EXACTLY what they are doing....

No, I hadn't heard about this. I couldn't even watch it all because I couldn't listen to the dribble from those commentators. But, you know what I found interesting? This man Brit Hume didn't even really come out with the Gospel. I think he says something like "I am not aware of any path to redemption in Buddhism". In my opinion, he just sort of implied that Tiger should become a Christian. Now, what I would have liked to be said is to come out with the full truth. Look, I don't care if Buddhism speaks of a way to redemption, there is none outside of Jesus Christ! There is no other name whereby man MUST be saved or he will be damned. Now, I bet they would have had a conniption had someone said that. I mean, if we are going to give them something to talk about, let's give them something to talk about. If they are blowing up over that relatively light statement Hume made, what in the world will they do at the pure Gospel being preached?? "For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?" Luke 23:31As God has told us, the Christians will become labeled as the haters and will become the enemy...not just of the state, but of the world. Who will echo the comments of one Christian reformer, who when told that the whole world was against him replied, " And I am against the world." "Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God." James 4:4

I see what you are saying. Instead of it being turning to Jesus because He is, in fact, the ONLY way to salvation it seems to be more about saving face to the public. Its not that I feel that this was a victory in the media for Christians by any means but it seems that he said more than what any of these televangelists would have said concerning this matter. Just the way it sounds it seems as if he may be implying that if Buddhism would have served the purpose of keeping Tiger and chaste and faithful man then roll with that instead of turning to Christ no matter how "good" someone's character may be perceived as there is none righteous but Christ. Here is another clip of Brit backing up what he said in a breif personal interview: gawker.com/5440096/brit-hume-telling-tiger-woods-to-become-christian-is-not-proselytizing

I agree. Brit did try to take a stand, but I think he was also trying to walk that fine line of not "offending" others. I believe we have to be freed from that. We must get to the point where we simply say what God puts in our hearts to say with no regard for the reaction of others.
I am not saying doing so in malice or in the wrong spirit, for that simply comes off as hypocrisy. We must do so in love. What I mean by that is not that it has to be soft-spoken or touchy feely. But that when something is said in the right spirit, it will be said out of love because the presence of God bears witness to the truth.
When Jesus took a whip and chased the money-changers out of the temple, that was love. When Jesus called the Pharisees hypocrites, that was love. When Jesus extended grace to Peter to bring him back unto Himself after he had denied Christ, that was love. When Jesus told them to let the dead go bury the dead, that was love. When Jesus told the woman to go and sin no more, that was love.
We often judge what is love based on how it makes us "feel", but that is not God's standard.
This world is increasing pressure more and more to make people compromise on Christ. To either say that Jesus is one of many ways or to even deny His existence. But the truth - when spoken boldly in love - can melt the coldest of hearts and bring one to their knees before an awesome God.
So don't ask me why I wrote all of that. I know it is somewhat off topic, but I just felt let to. LOL

You are totally right and I am glad that you wrote all of that. I do agree that we need to take a stand for the truth no matter what! That is what is required of us. Just carrying the name without represent ALL that the name of Jesus represents is actually misrepresentation. I guess too, I was comparing Brit to Osteen on The View. That was compromise at its finest. There are sooo many so called Christians that just see Christianity as just one of many ways to God. And homosexuality is way more than just "not God's best." You speak so eloquently about love. It is the driving force of our very existence and salvation. It is our love (immense and unwavering) that should drive us to stand bold for the truth! That for Christ I live and for Christ I die attitude....RIDE OR DIE FOR JESUS...lol. Your point is well made and well taken. You say that this world is increasing pressure more and more to make people compromise on Christ. This is totally random but have you heard anything about that Denzel movie Book of Eli? We went to see it last weekend and well....I can so honestly see how this is going to be a driving force for even more misguidedness (if that is even a word) Ask me and I'll tell you why....

Please do tell!!! I won't begin to tell you how many "Christians" have sent me notes talking about how this movie is a "must see" and such a great film for Christianity. Now, I had my doubts because since when is Hollywood going to promote Christ. Also, I know that Denzel practices spiritism in his roles by his own admission.
So, I would love to hear your impression because I know I won't be going to see it. But I would like to know more about the plot in order to address those who inquire. Thanks!
