That is awful...and it happens more than it should. Similar things happened when I was in college and there was one death at that time. I have never understand the mentality behind pledging. If more people understand what we have in Christ, the need for acceptance from such fraternal orders I believe would diminish.
On a brighter note, Happy Birthday Tika! :-)

I dated a guy who pledged and he would come to me crying and telling me all of the stuff that they would do as far as hazing. I almost had no sympathy for him because he allowed them to do it. He would be all brusied up and everything. Then I had another homie in college that was beat so badly that he had to be rushed the hospital for urinating blood after one of their sessions. I almost got sucked in but I am not big on groups and clicks at all so it just never really appealed to me on a personal level. I just thought their little clothes and dances were cute but had no idea about all of the demonic stuff behind it until I spoke with a good friend that had denounced her sorority while we were in college. She really helped me to solidify my decision about not pledging...I AM SO THANKFUL FOR THAT!
The unfortnate reality about it all is that Christians don't understand their God enough to be able to judge right from wrong in this matter. Its like for some reason we forget what the Bible says when it comes to things that we just really want to do. People claim they want to please God, but only on their terms it seems. I have some friends that are still Greek and a grandmother that is an Eastern Star and I want to shout in their ears about all of this so bad but am not sure how to approach it.
I just really don't get all of this greek stuff....But then again, if you think about it, it seems to all fit into the NWO agenda. Teaching people how to conform to belong so when it all goes down conformity is the accepted norm...in order to belong.
Thank you so much for the birthday wishes...a happy birthday it has been. Cupcakes from the co workers, lunch with the hubby and its still not over...:-)
